5 Stars technology,technology,technology
What a great gizmo……….I would not have done and gone many places on my recent vacation to California whithout a GPS. This is my first and I have no complaints. It worked very nice. The only thing I would suggest to the manufacturer is improve the battery charge time. I rented a piece of crap Chrysler 2009 300 and the cigarrete lighter did not work so I had to turn off the unit when I was not going to needed on a long stretch of road and turn it back on when I needed it to tell me somenthing.
LOVELY PIECE OF EQUIPMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!
4 Stars Good Tool
This navigator is real easy to use. You even get to pick what icon you want as your car! Plus, you can download other vehicles and even voices that give the directions!
The only reason I didn’t give this 5 stars, is because I would like to have had the elevation & the total number of mile to go on the map.
Other than that, it is AWESOME!!
5 Stars Too Cool To Pass Up
I finally broke down and purchased this unit. I absolutely love it!! So much that I bought another one for my wife. I really haven’t needed it to find the way much but know that if I get stuck I will be able to find the way home. The best part is the “Find it” mode where you can locate hospitals, restaurants or any number of other things. I also love the categories for restaurants. We found a Mexican restaurant in a town we have been going to for years and never knew about. Now it is a favorite. At this price, you cannot go wrong.
5 Stars I love it!!
I love it…easy to use and I like that it speaks street names. Highly recommend!!!
5 Stars Great product, easy interface, sometimes slow on satellite acquisition
I bought the Garmin Nuvi 260w for a 5,000 mile road trip across the states and the only special features I wanted were the text-to-speech and the widescreen. Text-to-speech is an absolute necessity, and even though the directions can still be a little confusing despite this feature (ie ‘turn left’ vs ’slight left’ vs ‘keep left’ etc…) I can’t imagine navigating without it. I was slightly worried about satellite reception in the middle of nowhere, finding campgrounds far off the beaten path, etc, but it performed beautifully. The only problem I had, which I think is common with navigation systems across the board, is that it can take 5 or 10 minutes for the Nuvi to find your position, so you have to get in the habit of turning it on right when you get in the car. Otherwise, it cuts out sometimes in tunnels but usually picks up your location in a matter of seconds. I’ve also been using the Nuvi in my new city while trying to find an apartment – I can’t imagine how many pages of google map directions I would have had to print to accomplish what the Nuvi did for me. It afforded me great flexibility and I would buy from Garmin again in a heartbeat.
