User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Garmin Navigation in France
I installed the Garmin software chip for Europe in my Nuvi 205 for a trip to the French mountains and countryside. It worked perfectly, showing even the smallest roads, some of which were single-lane and unpaved. Absolutely worth the purchase price.

3 Stars Nuvi 660 owners beware
As a set of maps, this product fine.

But, when I plugged this card into my Garmin Nuvi 660, it seemed to run much slower, and the battery life dropped from 3-4 hours to about 15 minutes. This was a real problem, since I was trying to use it in pedestrian mode. So I just used conventional paper maps for about 95% of my trip. For my purposes, this card was a waste of $100.

This problem is not an issue with the map card product per se, but you should be aware that you may not experience the usual level of GPS performance when you have a card plugged into your Garmin. This doesn’t make much sense, since I suspect that the internal maps are also stored in flash memory just like the card’s. But it is what I experienced. Other Garmin models might behave better than the 660.

5 Stars Garmin European Plug and Play Street Maps
Garmin City Navigator NT Europe microSD card with European maps for your Garmin portable navigator

This addition to our Garmin Nuvi was an excellent and dependable resource for European travel! The best was the feature whereby coordinates of a location could be stored, named, and used for return travel to a particular location. This prooved invaluable in Greece where there is little English on the signage, if a sign existed at all. Off the main thoroughfares there were literally no signs and road names. What a stress reducer for night travel! A definite must for the independant traveller!

5 Stars Terrific Navigation Tool
We just returned from a 16 day trip to Spain and Portugal and utilized the European map SD Card in our Nuvi. It worked great and I would recommend it to anyone traveling to Europe. The only problems we encountered were due to construction, new highways, street closings, etc.

5 Stars A basic need if traveling by car in Europe
We just came back from our vocation from central Europe. The map worked pretty good on our GPS (Nuvi 260).

We preset all our reserved hotels and places we plan to go (into favorites) before leaving the country, so it is really convenient. We booked a B & B in a small town on a hill near Interlaken where even Google map doesn’t show, but it can be found on this map. We drove there without any problems (some other people we talked had to make a lots of phone calls to find the place). In another case, the gas tank was low, but the road signs don’t show any gas stations nearby, we used the map to find a Shell station (and WC) in a small town. Some roads have complicate intersections which are hard to figure out which exit to take, especially at night. With the map, there is no need to worry about making a mistake in driving. The GPS can guide you.

In all, we are pleased with the product.
