User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars better than ipod
I wanted to buy ipod from my mom, but she need a recorder, Sansa Fuze has excellent built in recorder. Plus it has FM radio and micro SD slot. Ipod does not have any of these features. Other good thing was when I connected to Microsoft Vista, it detected sansa fuze as disk 1 and its micro SD card as disk 2, which made life easy. I did not need micro SD card adapter.

4 Stars Good to choose Fuze
The Fuze packs a lot of features for the price. Good storage capacity, decent FM radio (I’m surprised how much I use this), nice design and build quality. The headphones are kind of marginal, though. I replaced mine with the headphones that came with my computer. Better sound, longer cord, and a volume control on the cord, which I find very useful.

On the whole, I would highly recommend the Fuze to anyone shopping for an MP3 player – especially when you compare prices.

5 Stars Great player at less than half the cost of iPod
Half the cost of iPod

More features

Better sound quality-really GREAT sound quality

NO ITUNES HASSLES

Nice form factor

Good user interface

Have been using mine daily for a year and a half. No significant issues.

Occasional “fritz-out” requires re-fromatting (twice, I think)

As with any sort of computer use, careful file management gives better results.

Regarding the video, the advertising copy states: “Simply connect the player to a PC, and start dragging files from your Windows Media Player 10 or 11 applications.”

This is NOT TRUE. You need to use Sansa’s little accessory application called Sansa Media Converter. It doubles or triples the size of the file for a 1.9″ screen. Many complaints about Sansa Media Converter. Do not buy this if frequent and easy video use is very importatnt to you. I convert You-Tube videos to avi files and these little ten-minute clips work fine. Feature length films are not going to work out really well.

the micro SDHC card give you another 8 gigs or more. Add a 16 gig card and get a 24 gig machine! Plus, you could have several accessory micro SDHC cards for audiobooks, videos, etc. This feature makes it worth twice the price in my opinion.

Plus you get FM radio, FM radio recorder, voice recorder…

Plus you get free periodic firmware upgrades fixing bugs and adding features.

Rockbox add-on is already available for version 1 Fuze devices.

Amazing deal for $70 shipped free!

4 Stars Great sound!
I really love this player. Lots of features, easy to use and feels good in your hand. Very rich and full sound but could be a little louder. I do wish you could Play while charging but the screen comes on (and stays on) and displays “Connected” while plugged in. Very easy to transfer files, any kind of files.

5 Stars Sansa Fuse is awesome
My wife loves the Fuse. We were going to get the 4 gig model but got a smoking deal on the 8 gig model. It is easy to use and holds a charge for quite awhile. Happy with the purchase.
