Big, Full-Bodied Sound
Employing four specially engineered drivers (two 3-inch full-range drivers and two silkdome 1-inch tweeters), the T612 offers smooth, rich sound through the full audio spectrum. Even without a subwoofer, the bass is deep and powerful, thanks to the XdB bass-enhancement technology. The T612 provides a system response from 60 Hz to 20 kHz.
The built-in amplification provides 60 Watts of power RMS (120 Watts Peak), enough power to fill an entire room with dynamic music.
No More Mobile Interference
Unlike most speaker systems, the T612 is shielded from the noise emitted by mobile phones. The upshot is that you won’t miss any phone calls because you don’t need to put your iPhone in airplane mode just to listen to your music. When you do receive a call, the T612 will automatically pause the music to ensure that you hear your call.
Elegant, Versatile Design
With a minimalist and elegant silver-and-black design, the T612 will look great placed on a table in your living room or mounted on the wall. (A wall-mounting kit is available separately.) A built-in dock places your iPhone or dockable iPod at an easy-to-see angle in the center of the system while charging it. Also, an auxiliary stereo input lets you connect another MP3 or CD player to the system.
A wireless remote is included, allowing you to control such functions as track forward/back, volume, and bass/treble levels from across the room.
The Altec Lansing T612 is backed by a one-year warranty.

1 Star Broke down after 6 weeks and litle use
The title says it all except that it replaced another, different Altec Lansing iPod player and amplified speaker system that broke down after 4 years
5 Stars Great Product
I was leaning towards a Bose sounddeck but didn’t want to spend that much so I decided to go with the Altec Lansing. It is as good as or better than the Bose. My son has the Bose and we did a comparison and we could not tell much difference. This is a great product especially for the price.
5 Stars Great Altec Lansing T612!!!
I did my homework before buying this iPod docking player 2 months ago. I chose this model only because of its favorable rating history. I was very impressed with the audio and the looks of this thing. It looks and feels much better than the photos I’ve seen. I was also happy to see that my old, ancient iPod (4th gen 20gb iPod from 2004—size of a small refrigerator) docks nicely with this unit. The only downside is that the remote control does not allow me to navigate through the different playlists on my iPod. The most it can do is skip forwards and backwards. But I think that’s a common thing among other docking players. Overall, I love this player.
4 Stars Big sound from a little device
Specifically bought this for a move into a new house. Plugged it in, dropped on my iPhone (it charges the 3G), and filled the house with energizing tunes. It has been two weeks and I still haven’t got around to hooking up my Bose surround system–it might be awhile.
3 Stars Not for iPhone
Although this item is advertised for use with the iPhone, the connection is unsuitable. I have to lodge the remote behind my iPhone to maintain the connection, and this amateur accommodation is far from perfect.
The system is well-priced;perhaps it works better with iPods.
