3 Stars Seems to drain faster than original?
The info on time left is great but it seems to drain faster than the original battery.Only used it through two cycles though we’ll see
if it gets any better with more use.
5 Stars Shows you remaining minutes
This NP-FD1 battery is of the same size and capacity as the NP-BD1 battery that came with your Sony digital camera. This means it’s slim and takes the same number of shots. The difference is the FD1 is an “InfoLithium” battery (Sony’s trademark) and it tells you the approximate remaining minutes on the camera LCD screen. This estimate is not completely accurate, but does give you a rough idea of how much longer you can use your camera before battery runs down. Note that the indicator is number of remaining minutes, not number of shots.
BTW, while generic replacements for the BD1 battery abound (but I don’t recommend using a non-OEM LiIon battery for safety reasons), I haven’t seen one for the FD1, presumable because this one uses Sony’s proprietary time-estimating technology.
4 Stars Great backup
Bought this as a backup for my Cybershot T-700 and it seems to work very well. Displays approximate time remaining. Seems to not last as long as the normal battery but for the price it was an excellent buy.
5 Stars You may need a spare!
No complaints. Works when I need it to. Great for vacation or long days when you’ll be taking pictures all day with your original battery (Which may not last all day depending on usage).
4 Stars Convenient backup battery!
I ordered this battery at the same time I purchased a Sony DSC-TX1. I had heard reviews that I would need a spare battery and I didn’t know if the reason was because of the battery’s life or if it was because of the camera’s appetite. But whatever the case is, this battery, in my honest opinion, is a lot better than the one that comes in the box with the camera. This is just because instead of a picture that shows the battery’s life bar it actually has the remaining amount of time left. Besides that, they both seem to have the same amount of battery life. This is a definite must buy for users who like to take a lot of pictures or often find themselves tinkering around with their pocket shooters.
